The big switch

The enhancements to this web site script have been in preparations for more than a year. In the recent weeks I did not have much time to work on it, so the progress was slow and it looked like it would take too long to finish everything. So, I have decided to take a risk and I will be switching the main web to the new script very soon, likely during the night from Sunday to Monday (depending on your time zone).
What does it mean for you
If you have a cursor or icon to upload right now, I would suggest to wait for the new web, because at some point during the next 24 hours, I would have to export all data from the current web and import it on the new web server. If you happen to upload or post a comment or do any other change after the export, the change won't make it to the new web and you'll have to upload/comment/blog there again.
The old web will be accessible for some time after the switch via an alternate link and in case there is a critical, unfixable problem, I can switch back to it, but let's hope it won't be necessary.
What to expect
Since not all problems are fixed, expect to run into some, report them, and I will prioritize fixing them. In the first days, please focus on critical problems, not on cosmetics or nice-to-haves, there will be time to address them later. Examples of potentially critical problems are inability to log-in, upload, download, comment, create account, etc. On the other hand typos, visual issues, or missing minor features can wait.
Two notable unfinished things are the karma system and custom user groups. I did not even decide whether to call them "groups" or "guilds". We will see. The karma system will probably go through multiple iterations as achieving its main goal (making life easier for the well behaving people and harder for trolls) is not easy and what works one day may cease to work on the next.
Support for https will come a bit later, after things stabilize and there are no more critical issues. I do not want to make too many changes at once.
Recent comments
I hope Vlasta that this big switch to the new website will not cause all my cursor sets and icon sets, as well as other sets made by others, to be accidentally deleted or lost. That is what I am afraid of, so please make sure that your switch over to the new website does not mess up anyone's uploaded cursor sets and icon sets.
Please use the term "guides" instead of guilds for the karma system. It is a better term to use. I like to use meaningful terminology that makes sense.
In addition to the above, please make sure to add more profile information for user's accounts such as date of creation and custom themes. Light and dark modes are good but I want to be able to create my own custom theme for my accounts page, so please do not forget to add that as well.

when i saw "karma" i thought u were talking abt reddit karma lol and was like "oh no..." but then i saw it was for people who were behaving badly
I am excited for the new web, and I hope to test out its new features on the active portion of the site. I'm sorry you had to take some time off, but that's what devs do when they have IRL stuff or are burnt out.

@eeveelover64, the karma system allows you to upvote and down vote comments in the comments section of every page. Anonymous users shouldn't have that ability.
There is a problem with this new website. The comments that others and I posted about my cursor sets and their ratings are no longer showing up. How can I keep track of users giving me feedback, comments and ratings on my cursor and icon sets?
Please add all the necessary missing features that the old website used to have. I want to be kept up to date with other user's response on my cursor and icon sets when they rate and comment on them.
this is such a nice new look!! i love it a lot!!
i will admit, it feels like a good chunk is missing; perhaps im used to the beige background. but other than that, everything feels nice and smooth so far!!
cant wait to see what improvements are made in the near future!
Please Vlasta change this site to the old site and then merge all the features of the new site into the old site. Then, you can fix bugs and issues with the old site after the merge, making sure that everything is tested and works correctly.
New features on the new site like karma and other account details like date of account creation can also be merged with the old site. Please do that and fix all bugs and other problems related to cursors sets and icon sets download issues or any bugs you find.
