The Male Boss Cursor Library Redesign.

Introduction Statement
First of all, I would like to thank Vlasta for the hard work he has put into redesigning the web over the last few years and for his continued service as the website administrator.
My review here today is not a criticism of his hard work but rather an opinion on how this website can be made a better place for all users and to credit him with many of the good new features that have been brought to this website.

Section 1 - Overall UI Changes
The overall design of the website seems much flatter and simpler, which is great.
The colours at the top of the page seem nicer and lighter; it would have been nice for more styles to be added in the future. I also like the fact that the search bar has been moved to the top left of the website.
It’s also nice to see how many buttons you have in your treasure chest without having to be in your workshop too.
As well as your upvote/downvotes available to use and the number of unread messages.

Section 2 - Software Page
The Resigned Icons for the RealWordPaint, RealWorld Cursor Editor and RealWorld Icon Editor look different from the old ones and lack any colour, which does look nice.
The addition of new icons for more desktop tools and web browser tools is a nice new addition.
The RealWorld Photos Program has been moved from the main section to the more desktop tools area, which is different.
The addition of the Forum Link at the top is a nice new feature, making it a quicker way to access the Software Support Forum.
There’s also been a slight reordering of the links at the top from Icon Editor - Cursor Editor - Photos to Image Editor - Cursor Editor- Icon Editor.

Section 3 - Gallery Page
This page largely retains the same look as it did on the old page; however, it still includes all the new design changes with lighter colours and a much flatter feel compared to the old web, which I do like.
The Design Services and Links Pages Shortcuts from the top have been removed and replaced with Requests and Forum Shortcuts, which I do think is a good addition to the page and probably more useful than the old shortcut links.

Section 4 - Learn Page Previously Help Page
The Shortcuts at the top of the page have all been renamed. Basics has now been renamed as What is a …? and Tutorials has been renamed as How to Make a …?. The Articles Shortcut has been renamed to Video Guide on…?.
The Icons, Cursors, Images and Photos shortcuts have been removed.
A Link Shortcut has been added.
Overall, this section of the website seems to have been reorganised quite nicely. In my view, it seems to be a lot easier to understand.

Section 5 - Relax Previously Named Forum
This is one of two sections of the web where the biggest change has come, which is welcomed.
The Forum Element of the Old Page has now just all been merged into one shortcut at the top of the page, which is a nice welcome change, making it simpler.
The New Arcade shortcut is a nice new feature; placing the two games on the website in the same area is also useful.
The New Market Shortcut is one of the best features of the new web; in my view, the ability to see the actual colour or variants of some of the items you’re buying is nice, such as spray paints, wrapping paper, and pets; this also helps reduce the risk of getting duplicate items, like black spray paint dispensers, which happened to me a few times.
The flea market is another great idea, allowing users to sell their items from their workshop to other users with a smaller risk of getting scammed.
Making Pets useful again is also a nice idea for those who owned one previously and for those users who were not members of the website when they last were purchasable.
The addition of the Claw Machine to the market is also great, although I do question the price point of 500 buttons since it’s produced an unlimited amount of mystery presents; other items that have produced an unlisted amount of other items typically have cost 20x the amount of the item it’s produced, for example, 20x 5 Buttons = 100 or 20x 2 Buttons = 40 Buttons.
The ability to purchase more panels for the people’s page and picture frames for the people’s page I do like too.
The design of making spray paints dispensed from a spray paint dispenser cost 1 button I do think is a fair choice, although I did hold some scepticism to this originally.
I do think the fact mystery presents cost 10 buttons to produce from a claw machine is a little high, especially given the items’ high purchase price in the first place.
Unfortunately, I don’t like the change that was made with potted buttons, poms. Regrettably, this is the one main area where I preferred the old website system approach of a maximum time of 48 hours rather than, in effect, the unlimited time limit under the new website, which could mean weeks, months, or even years until a button can be picked from the plant again.
I do like the new buttons chest and the new karma wheel.
The new karma feature is a good way of rewarding respectful registered users and a way of punishing spam users and trolls, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you have to do with this feature in the future.

Section 6 - People’s Page.
Since the New Groups Page does not exist fully yet, I will make a review on this issue, probably later on when it’s available.
The New Profile Page is great; I particularly like the new statistics section, which lets me see who subscribed to me, my karma, and all the other important statistics.
I particularly like the fact you can now display more than one trophy.
The Art Section now displays three of your most recent sets or two of your most recent sets plus your featured set, which is less than the ten that existed on the old page, although I welcome this change anyway.
I do like the fact that you can rearrange the panels on the page and put them in whatever order you want.
I did hold a little bit of scepticism at first for not being able to have one photo by default on the profile page, but it is only ten buttons to buy one, which isn’t a lot, so it’s okay.
I do like the new inbox notifications and inbox look.
I like the wall section of the website, which I believe is new, which shows you all the news and subscription updates that are personalised to me so I can view the things that interest me.
My new account page looks nice, and I like the fact it’s now easier to change your email address if you want to.
I also think it’s nice you’ve made the default user icons now contain colour in them, which they previously didn’t do.
I can’t remember if the blogs section existed on the old website; I’m not 100% sure, but again, it’s a nice feature to have so I can see all the latest blogs.

Overall Conclusion
This redesign is overall a solid four-star improvement; there is still some potential there to make it get that extra star, but the website redesign is a step in the right direction.
Congratulations on this great work, Vlasta.

The change to the button poms was necessary. It is always dangerous to have unlimited sources of free money in an economy, it leads to market malfunctioning. After the change, they are still sources of free money, but now the rate at which this free money is accessible is slowing down.

And by the way, the groups were at least partially functional all the time, the thing is, creating a group is not trivial and nobody has figured out how to do it yet. Very subtle hints were given...

The Potted Button Pom did cost 125 Buttons it was more of an investment item since one they picked 125 times they’ve in effect purchased themselves. - by The Male Boss on May 24th
It’s a similar situation with other workshop items that can earn you buttons for example the 15 Puzzle. - by The Male Boss on May 24th
Picking 125 button will take roughly the same time, but the profits afterwards should come slower. - by Vlasta on May 24th
I’m not against making it slower to make profits but I do think some sort of maximum time limit like maybe 4, 5, 6 or 7 Days certainly after 125 picks before they can be picked again. - by The Male Boss on May 24th

Hypothetically Example of how some fixed time limit could be implemented.
1st to 60th Pick of a Button - 1 Day or 24 Hours
61st to 125th Pick of a Button - 2 Days or 48 Hours
126th to 250th Pick of a Button - 3 Days or 72 Hours
251st to 500th Pick of a Button - 4 Days or 98 Hours
501st to 1000th Pick of a Button - 5 Days or 120 Hours
1001st to 2000th Pick of a Button - 6 Days or 144 Hours
2001st Pick Onwards of a Button - 7 Days or 168 Hours

It actually now starts at 12 hours for the 2nd button. And if you picked 2000 buttons, your investment has returned manyfolds. - by Vlasta on May 24th
How much time is added on after each pick of a button and can this information be made available to the general public or what the formula is on how the time is calculated. - by The Male Boss on May 24th
It is similar to what you suggested. - by Vlasta on May 25th

I like this review. It sets the stage up for what is to come for the redesign. One thing I wish could be improved is to give us a way to manage our groups, similar to guilds on Discord, and make private chat rooms for these groups. 😊

That's partially already there, just saying... Somebody just needs to discover the way to create a group while having all necessary components 😉. - by Vlasta on May 24th
