topic iconWhat OS do you use?

I want anyone to know if they use a different OS, due to the controversies of Microsoft's Windows 11, otherwise known as Microslop. I evaded Windows 11 in search of a better alternative OS, and ran RW software in Linux using Bottles (an easy-to-use version of Wine as a Flatpak). If there are a ton of Linux users here, who knows? Maybe we'll get official Linux versions of cursor editors with a tutorial and option to design custom themes for Linux.

I used to use Kurumin Linux and liked it a lot, but I went back to Windows XP because the Windows applications didn't work on that 2008 Linux version. But I've seen people here using the same Linux distribution I used and getting all the Windows applications working. There was some kind of add-on installed there.

did you try running Wine? Wine is a great application to run Windows games on Linux. - by nibbler on January 28th
Unfortunately not. I think Wine was missing from the Linux version I used. I didn't know; but I plan to install Linux again in the future, so I'll try downloading it from the internet to install and test Wine. - by Xudatxa on January 29th
Maybe that's what was missing and is necessary. Thank you. - by Xudatxa on January 29th

I used a windows operating system and I use Windows 11 because i think its the best operating system to use because I think that it is good for mouse cursors but i like this for how people describe for what they use for operating systems.๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š

I've been using Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu.

I love Linux but sometimes I'm just like UGHHH cause I can't remember how it works.
I end up using 10 as my main, but its heavily modified to remove spyware and keep updates going despite the date passing.

I'm currently using Linux Mint, but I wish to change my cursor for a diferent image, a custom game-like cursor. How could I do that?

You can change your Xcursor, with themes from the Gnome-Look store, extract them, and put them in "~/.icons/". You can also create your own Linux cursors using RW Cursor Editor in Bottles, and win2xcur (can be installed via pipx). - by nibbler on February 22nd
Download a sample cursor set from Gnome-Look to see what roles are available, then use x2wincur (after you install win2xcur) to convert them into Windows cursors to see what their roles look like. - by nibbler on February 22nd

believe it or not, windows 7

yep, i actually dislike modern windows so much that i "downgraded". i've always loved windows 7; i was with it during my first few years using RW designer over a decade ago, and i'm back on it today

Windows 7 is the GOAT of my time! I loved Windows 7 and its AeroGlass look back in middle school. ๐Ÿ˜Š - by nibbler on February 22nd
